A tribute to Bill Hicks

Bill Hicks portraitTo commemorate the tenth anniversary of his death, the Guardian is running a tribute to Bill Hicks, my favorite comedian and one of my heroes. It includes choice excerpts from his routines and a look at the creative recognition that accompanied his last days (Hicks died at 32 of pancreatic cancer). Update: The excerpt was pulled, perhaps because the book from which it was taken hit the shelves in the meantime.

Hicks was also recently featured in the Trio special, "Uncensored Comedy: That's Not Funny!"
