The Internet: Day One

I recently remembered the old Windows dialog box where it means to ask you if you want to remove the Internet icon from your desktop, but actually asks you if you want to delete the Internet. What if someone hit that button today, and cleared the NSI database and every connected server? Starting from zero, knowing what we all know now, what would you do differently? How would everyone else react?
